General Chiropractic FAQs

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No referral is required. You can call (562) 321-5225 directly or request an appointment online to schedule your first visit.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit includes a consultation, a thorough exam, and a discussion of your health history so we can identify the root cause of your symptoms before recommending a treatment plan. Visit our New Patients page for full details.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Yes. Chiropractic care is a conservative, non-invasive, drug-free approach to musculoskeletal health that’s safe for most patients, from children to seniors.

Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

Most patients find adjustments comfortable, sometimes accompanied by a popping or cracking sensation as joints are realigned.

How often should I see a chiropractor?

Frequency depends on your condition and goals. Some patients benefit from weekly visits initially, tapering to periodic maintenance care over time.

Do you accept insurance?

Call (562) 321-5225 to confirm your specific insurance coverage and benefits before your visit.

Can chiropractic care help with headaches?

Yes. Many headaches are linked to tension or misalignment in the neck and upper spine, which chiropractic adjustments and decompression therapy can help relieve.

Do you treat injuries from car accidents?

Yes. We treat a range of auto injury-related conditions, including whiplash and headaches following a car accident.

Is spinal decompression therapy painful?

No. Most patients describe decompression therapy as a gentle, comfortable stretching sensation rather than pain.

Can decompression therapy help me avoid surgery?

For many patients, yes. Decompression therapy can relieve pressure on affected discs and nerves, which may reduce or eliminate the need for surgical intervention.

What is the difference between chiropractic care and decompression therapy?

Chiropractic care uses hands-on adjustments to restore joint and spinal alignment, while decompression therapy uses a specialized table to gently stretch the spine and relieve pressure on discs and nerves. Many patients benefit from a combination of both.

Is shockwave or laser therapy painful?

Both treatments are non-invasive and generally well tolerated. Most patients describe mild sensations like tapping or warmth rather than pain.

How long does chiropractic treatment take to work?

Results vary by patient and condition. Some notice relief after their first visit, while others require a series of sessions for lasting results.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card if applicable, and any completed new patient forms. Prior imaging or medical records related to your condition are helpful as well.

Can I fill out my paperwork before I arrive?
